Whether he can power up or not after fusing (Dance) don't really bother me. I'm just saying Gogeta's a lot more tougher then people think. My reasons are already listed. I can find a true way to keep the chain intact too.

Super Saiyan Vegito >>> Super Saiyan 3 Gogeta >~ Buuhan > Super Saiyan 2 Gogeta > Super Saiyan Gogeta >>~ Buutenks

I think this is more of how I see it.

Underline 1: Super Saiyan 3 Gogeta can be briefly stronger then Buuhan but due to the strain, shorten time limit, and Buu's resilience he won't be able to beat him, keeping honest to Buuhan's claim. Gap's akin to SSJGSS Goku and Golden Frieza.

Underline 2: Basically what I mentioned earlier, Goku suggests fusing prior fusing via Potara, so I believe he was to do the same for the Dance if they couldn't transform.
How big is your SSJ2 multiplier? The gap between Gohan and SSJ3 Gotenks wasn't that big at all.
I don't have a multiplier, it's all plot based to me but it shouldn't matter since Super Saiyan Goku (Super) is weaker the Frieza, though I believe Goku was holding out power but oh well.

Pro-Buutenks

* Buutenks stated that Gokhan would be no match for him.

Pro-Gogeta :

* On the other hand, I have Buuhan = 2x Gotenks, and with everything we got to see from the kids, I hardly see the kids being above even Goku (50 %). Just look at the SSJ-tier gap :

Goku = Vegeta (Post-Majin) > Gohan (CG) > Vegeta (Pre-Majin) > Teen Gohan >= Goku (CG) > Trunks > Goten.

That's ignoring the fact that the kids little boost = Gotenks's huge boost, as demonstrated by Gotenks (Post-RoSaT). And as Goku and Vegeta > the kids, Gogeta would be a lot stronger than Gotenks.

* Buutenks still tried to kill Goku and Gohan before they fused

* Goku asked if they should become SSJ after or before the fusion. While it's true that he said it after he was being told that the FP had a greater effect, this statement was unclear to Goku at the time he said it, before Old Kai saying him that Base Gokhan > Buutenks then saying that's Potara's power.

* Then again, Goku was confident in his fusion with Gohan. Old Kai didn't stated that the fusion wouldn't be enough against Goku, just that Buu wouldn't let them do it.

SSJ Gogeta wins this one imo.

Exactly, I see I'm not the lonesome person that see that particular line about Goku still asking if he should become Super Saiyan for a superior method.

I could've swore I remember there being a statement saying that fusions can't transform without practice. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
The guidebooks say that Gotenks needed practice to go Super Saiyan after Fusion, but that doesn't necessarily apply to all Fusions.

Vegetto obviously could do it, and Gogeta popped into Super Saiyan the moment he formed in Movie 12, too. But in both cases, Super Saiyan 1 is something that comes super-easily and naturally to both Goku and Vegeta, so it's not surprising. Though I doubt pulling off Super Saiyan 3, something that only one of them's barely capable of, would be possible without at least a little training.

 Ok so piccolo never said they couldn't turn ssj after they fused only that he didn't know they could. Alright that's cool. But then why didn't pre rosat gotenks turn ssj when he went after fat buu?

Because he couldn't. I'm sure he would've done so if it was possible.
